Not sure if you know of, or are a fan of, Pathfinder RPG, but this looks like a scene right out of the Mendevian Crusades!
Did you really paint this using a mouse?
If you did, you're truly are amazing.
a) as far as i can see he's more muscular.
b) armored gloves provide additional weight which would help if the man on the left had an upper hand, but make him put much more effort and would lead to faster weariness of muscles if not.
